All About Me

All About Me is a journey we embark on to discover our identity, who we are. This graphic novel is the result of young authors who express themselves naively and sincerely. This project is the result of young people supported by Yarra Youth Services staff and artists. It was carried out at the Richmond Youth Hub, a safe space where children can engage in programs, activities and events as well as get access to information, support and referrals to other services.

We invite you to discover and embark on this genuine journey. This book is a collection of simple questions aimed at understanding more about oneself. It refers to aspects of their lives that our storytellers would like to do or prefer to have. This graphic novel is a record of children’s dreams and creative ideas. All About Me feels like a journal where you can understand kids’ different thoughts and life experiences in their words and drawings. Let’s meet the authors through their stories.

The result of this publishing project is an intriguing path we encourage you to follow with an open heart. Get inspired by children’s dreams and interests and find again the little child that lives within you. Dive into this story with your kids to spark their curiosity as well as their creativity.

Make the reading of this book even more fun and find the hidden smiley faces throughout the pages. Support young creators and enjoy a story made by kids, for kids!

The children were creatively engaged for the entirety of the project, primarily through their artwork, drawings, words and memories, and creative decision-making during the draft stage. […] The young people were felt incredibly special.
