This book was made as part of an exciting collaboration between 4 year old children at The University of Melbourne, Australia and Philip Stokes Studio Glass.
This has resulted in a synergy of drawings, paintings, installations, clay sculptures and glass creations.
Both the project and the book were developed in response to the 2011 International Year of Forests. The children created visual art works that reflect the children’s understandings of, and care for the natural world.
The focus of the project has been learning about the fragile beauty of the coral eco-system of the Great Barrier Reef. Coral artefacts and the childrens imaginary journeys have been the stimuli for the artworks.
