Once upon a time there was a 김치 shop. It was the best 김치 shop in the universe. Until one morning when the cats who owned it woke up to find that…the 김치 was gone! And only one person could be responsible. The 도깨비!
The 도깨비 김치 shop was the best until the cat’s 김치 shop came around. The 도깨비 was jealous and angry. They must have stolen the 김치!
So, the cats called the police. So, the police chased the 도깨비.
But the biggest question is, will they get the stolen 김치 back?

The Big 김치 Quest___김치 대소동
The Big 김치 Quest___김치 대소동 was written and illustrated by over 50 Melbourne children who participated in the K-Publishing: Korean Art and Book Making for All Kids program, held at the Immigration Museum. Over the course of 7 artist-led workshops, children learned about Korean language, history, pop culture, food and folk tales through mediums such as puppetry, calligraphy, dance, collage, fashion, watercolour, oil pastel and more. The result is an exciting, imaginative and hilarious adventure, starring 김치-making cats and mischievous 도깨비. Each vibrant page is chock-full of character, with new details to notice on every read.
This program was facilitated by lead artist Viet-My Bui, project manager Sadia Dubow, researcher Julie Choi, and guest artists Youbi Lee, Lily Taylor, Lisa Myeong-Joo and Ching Ching Liang.
